11/05/2010: Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Pim Verbeek today announced his preliminary squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup which begins in South Africa next month. Beauchamp, Bresciano, Cahill, Carle, Carney, Chipperfield, Culina, Emerton, Federici, Galekovic, Garcia, Grella, Holland, Holman, Jedinak, Brad Jones, Kennedy, Kewell, Lowry, McDonald, Milligan, Moore, Neill, North, Oar, Rukavytsya, Schwarzer, Valeri, Vidosic, Wilkshire, Rhys Williams. As per FIFA regulations, Verbeek will only take a final squad of 23 players to South Africa for the tournament - which will be formally named on Saturday 1st June in South Africa .. 24/04/2010: Qantas Socceroos have been drawn in Group C in the Asian Cup, to be held in Qatar in January, 2011. The other countries are the recently familiar Bahrain, old foes from early years South Korea , and India (whom Australia last played in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic games).. International

23/04/2010: Westfield Matildas coach Tom Sermanni has today selected the 23 player squad who will travel to Chengdu, China to compete in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2010 from 19-30 May, 2010, departing on 11 May. Among three results for the night, Eastern Suburbs local club Waverley Old Boys went down 1-6 to State League Hurstville City Minotaurs at the second attempt.
