Football Tragics Trip, to Hamilton ![]()
19/07/2010: A small party of the NSW chapter of the BOTN team took another hop at the weekend; this time north to Newcastle and the NNSW Football NBN league (as in June 2009). 4th placed Hamilton Olympic defeated Broadmeadow Magic 4-1 in a high quality game watched by a good crowd. More importantly it was a good day out, some good company, good food and beer, and another ground to tick off our list ... A-League: Preseason Central Coast 2 - Sydney FC 2 A still rusty Central Coast Mariners FC held a slick Sydney FC for a fair 2-2 draw in their preseason trial game at the Sydney Showground, Homebush Bay, on Saturday evening .. 11/07/2010: Premier League Marconi Stallions eventually defeated Super League side Spirit FC on penalties in the NSW McDonald’s Cup Final held at Lily Homes Stadium, Seven Hills on Sunday. For 90 minutes Spirit matched their illustrious foes, then another 30 minutes of extra time, with Tim Simpson almost grabbing the trophy when he hit the post. Into dreaded penalties and Josh De Kelly and Tom Lovell were the two unfortunate Spirit FC players to miss their spot-kicks, as Christopher Nunes drove home the final and winning penalty for a 7-6 victory... 11/07/2010: 'Lightning down Rangers again!' - Central Coast Lightning made the most of their luck in their 3-1 win at Popondetta Park on Sunday, when most of the 50/50 decisions appeared to go their way at a ground that was deemed to be a home fixture following many days of consistent heavy rain that had closed Pluim Park ... 23/06/2010: The NSW McDonald's Cup Semi-Final fixtures are being played this Tuesday June 22nd which was won by Spirit FC. Blacktown City FC 2 - Spirit FC 3, so Spirit go to the Final. Wednesday evening 23 June Blacktown Spartans lost to Marconi Stallions at Francis Park, Blacktown 0-1 in extra time ..

Two are purely Premier League clashes, whilst Super League Spirit hosted South Coast Wolves, and Super League Granville Rage got to play Div 1 Blacktown Spartans. Women's Asian Cup 2010: Final
30/05/2010: The Westfield Matildas have won the final of AFC Women's Asian Cup 2010 on Sunday night over North Korea 5-4 on penalties, after it going ahead it was 1-1 at the end of normal time, and then no change after extra time, and Kyah Simon slotted home the winning penalty to scenes of delirium in the mud of Chengdu. Officially released by FFA today The draw for the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season has been released today by Football Federation Australia (FFA). A-League Season 6 will kick off on with Round 1 on Thursday night 5 August with the newest club Melbourne Heart FC hosting the Central Coast Mariners FC at Melbourne Football Stadium (AAMI Park), with the Grand Final on second weekend of March, 2011. By playing more games on week-nights the 30 round premiership season will go over 27 weeks (with only 1 FIFA date break on October) and clubs still play each other three times only ..
