09/11/2010: Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck has selected a squad of 20 players for the friendly fixture against Egypt on Wednesday 17 November 2010 (Kick-off 7:30pm local, 4:30am AEDT). This is in preparation for the Asian Cup in January. Interesting inclusions are defender Sasa Ognenovski who receives his first ever call-up to the Qantas Socceroos squad after a stellar season with his K-League club Seongnam Illwha and goalkeeper Nathan Coe of Sonderjysk Elitesport, Denmark, for his second caallout (still uncapped). 19/10/2010: The Westfield Matildas defeated Mexico 3-1 at the 2010 Peace Queen Cup in South Korea on Sunday. Goals to Kate Gill, Collette McCallum and a 40-metre volley from Sally Shipard sealed the win before Mexico snuck a consolation goal late on. They next defeated Taiwan in Group B on Tuesday 19th. They will now play in the finals. The Korea Republic, England and New Zealand make up Group A. The winners from each group will advance to the Final in Suwon. The Matildas squad of 18 then head to Germany where they will play a one-off friendly match against the World number 2 ranked nation in Wolfsburg on October 28 ..
