09/11/2010: Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck has selected a squad of 20 players for the friendly fixture against Egypt on Wednesday 17 November 2010 (Kick-off 7:30pm local, 4:30am AEDT).
This is in preparation for the Asian Cup in January. Interesting inclusions are defender Sasa Ognenovski who receives his first ever call-up to the Qantas Socceroos squad after
a stellar season with his K-League club Seongnam Illwha and goalkeeper Nathan Coe of Sonderjysk Elitesport, Denmark, for his second caallout (still uncapped). More details ...

05/11/2010: The Qantas Joeys have qualified for the U17 world cup in Mexico next year after topping group C of the AFC U-16 Championship, and then coming from behind in a close fought game to defeat the UAE 3-2 in extra time of a AFC Championship Quarter Final. They however lost 1-2 to host Uzbekistan in a Semi-Final last night.

29/10/2010: The Westfield Matildas have been narrowly defeated by World Champions Germany in a physical encounter at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg in Germany's north. After Australia took the lead by a fine goal from Samantha Kerr in the middle of the first half, the hosts were able to equalize just eight minutes later through Inka Grings. After a lot of pressure the German team was able to get the lead in the middle of the second half ..

14/10/2010: The Qantas Young Socceroos have qualified for the final defeating Saudi Arabia 2-0 with a second half goal and then a penalty in a 'end-to-end' semi-final at the AFC U-19 Championship tonight in Zibo, China. They now play North Korea in the final on Sunday (a tough rematch from the women's senior final) - televised by Fox Sports 2 live at 10:25pm AEDT ..
