Sydney FC showed their A-League season is not finished as they battled to an away win at Newcastle, Moriyasu and Cazarine grabbing the important first half goals.

The Jets start brightly, on 5 minutes Abbas beats Musialik to the ball, he crosses and the ball falls to Wheelhouse who smashes a goal bound shot that Reddy is forced to touch onto the upright.

A turning point occurs as early as 10 minutes as Lubo Milcevic rolls an ankle, the Jets have no defenders on the bench as Fiorentini comes on and Wehrmen is forced out of the midfield and into the defence.

The Jets look out of sorts and its the visitors who start to dominate , Wehrman stops Carle, but a quick throw in has Cazarine on goal but Kennedy saves.

On 33 minutes Carle (welcome back to Newcastle) tries a snap shot from the edge of the area but its straight at Kennedy who palms it up and catches at the second attempt.

On 36 minutes a Jamieson corner is met by Moriyasu who drives in his first goal, its 1-0 Sydney.

The Jets are unable to make any head way up front as Jesic and Ryan Griffiths run around like headless chooks as they receive no service whatsoever

On the stroke of half time Petratos chases a through ball Kennedy gets there first but can only direct it to Cazarine who smashes the ball in, its 2-0 Sydney.

The second half commences in a similiar fashion ie the Jets are creating nothing but it changes on the hour Petrovski and Haliti come on and the change is quite dramatic, suddenly the tempo is increased and the home side has a extra spring, Wehrman is now back in midfield he finds Haliti on to Zadkovich, he makes it to the by line and cuts it back for Haliti who smashes it home, its now 2-1.

The Jets are pouring forward, Abbas plays in a beautiful pass for Zadkovich who finds Haliti but he hits it just wide of the upright.

A Wehrman corner finds Haliti who heads over

Finnish import, the 1.9m Juho Makela, comes on with 12 minutes to go and he is put through by Ryall but Elrich gets a foot in as the Finn almost immediately opens his account.

The final minutes has the home team struggling to create an opening and Petrates is away on goal for the visitors but Kennedy saves, it ends 2-1 for Sydney, the Jets missing a great chance to move into the top 6.

The small group of visiting fans give their team a standing ovation at the final whistle their first win in 6 games
