The Central Coast Mariners have flown into second spot on the ladder with a very impressive victory 2-0 over a poor Jets outfit at EnergyStadium Australia.

It starts brightly for the visitors Bozanic runs through the middle, the ball falls to Perez who fires over the crossbar, then Kwasnik has his goal bound shot blocked the ball rebounds to Simon who fires straight at Kennedy and all in the first four minutes Zadkovich heads out a cross straight to Rostyn Griffiths who narrowly fires wide.

On five minutes it gets worse for the hosts, Wehrman limps of injured and the link between the defence and the attack is gone...

On 14 minutes it gets even worse for the hosts, a through ball has Simon beating Topor-Stanley to the ball he slips it past Kennedy its 1-0 CCM.

The Jets are suddenly given an opportunity as a poor Bojic back pass is intercepted by Haliti who races to the edge of the penalty area his shot is blocked by Zwaanaawijk.

The home team as another chance as Ryan Griffiths is given a nice pass he races down field and delivers a perfect pass for Haliti who gets a touch but Ryan saves.

The Central Coast Mariners look too quick and well organised as they control the rest of the half which ends with a 30 meter Bozanic effort just over the cross bar.

The second half commences with Topor-Stanley taking too long on the ball, Simon jumps in to grab possession he makes a bee line for the goal but is shoved down by Topor–Stanley everyone at the ground including all the players look at Referee Chris Beath to give a penalty, amazingly he waves play on...

On 51 minutes the Jets put a beautiful passing move together as they go the length of the pitch Zadkovich finds Jesic who blasts a goal bound shot but Ryan saves.

The Mariners respond with Rostyn Griffiths finding Perez who threads a pass for Kwasnik he can wrap the game up but fires wide with only Kennedy to beat.

The Mariners look the much fitter in the hot sun as they win all the 50/50 battles in the middle of the park. Culina plays his final cards with Brockie and Petrovski coming on.

With 20 minutes remaining Virgili crosses for Petrovski but his header is well wide.

In the final 15 minutes its all the Mariners, Baird is away but takes the wrong option with a soft shot as Simon is unmarked, Baird immediately makes up for this as he heads on to Simon who as only Kennedy to beat but can only hit it straight at him, then McGlinchey bends a free kick over the wall but over the cross bar.

The Jets do little to respond as they aimlessly pump the ball forward straight back to the Mariners defenders.

With three minutes remaining a through ball finds Simon he crosses for Baird who finds McGlinchey he is about to pull the trigger he hears Hutchinson’s call and he cleverly puts it on a plate for Hutchinson who smashes it home, its 2-0 CCM and game over as the home fans head for the exits.

The Mariners go to second spot, with the Jets clinching to sixth spot.
