Adelaide United FC - Melbourne Heart FC

Friday night sees the Reds return to Hindmarsh after their draw with the Mariners last round away. Melbourne Heart's coach John van 't Schip will have his work cut out getting his side working together, and with Josip Skoko looking underdone that will be made worse. Adelaide, under new coach Rini Coolen, seemed to have learned lessons and in parts of the first half against the Mariners got in behind the defence ominously, led by Lucas Pantelis. My tip, another draw still seems likely.

Perth Glory FC - Newcastle Jets FC

The first game on Friday is between two teams playing good football. This doesn't always mean a good spectacle but you'd have to bank on Glory's second home game being well attended and that may get them over the line, along with some firepower. My tip, Glory!

Brisbane Roar FC - Sydney FC

Also on Saturday evening Brisbane are at home and hosting Sydney who will be desperate to get some points to pull away from the bottom of the table. The home side played some very attacking football in their only game so far (the derby away on the Gold Coast). My tip, Sydney will improve but their fragile defence will also be tested - score draw.

Wellington Phoenix FC - Central Coast Mariners FC

Sunday afternoon has the Mariners sailing over the ditch to take on Wellington, and let us hope it isn't so wet again that they can literally do that into Westpac Stadium. It is hard to guage the Phoenix on that one water-logged game and which Central Coast will trun up (first or second half from last week) is also problematic. So as I shouldn't heart tip again I'll go for a score draw.

Sunday, 21 August 2010 - Westpac Stadium, Wellington - Local kick-off: 3.00pm (1.00pm AEST)

Melbourne Victory FC - North Queensland Fury FC

Sunday's final game sees last year's Grand Finalist sitting down below on the table, and hosting the widely tipped wooden spooners North Queensland Fury. Frank Straka has his young guns fizzzing whilst Ernie Merrick has some problems to solve up front. So, I'm tipping a suprise win for Fury (watch fawn jackets walk out of shops)
