A Day in the Life!
12/10/2010

'A look at the Melbourne derby' - Friday was no ordinary Friday for me. For today was Derby Day, and I don't mean the annual running of the Horses at Flemington. Melbourne Town finally has a local derby in the A-League to call their own ..

Bangkok Glass 3 v South Melbourne 3

Australian team South Melbourne FC came back from behind to lead before ending 3-3 with Bangkok Glass FC in the RHB Singapore Cup quarter-final 1st leg on Friday night at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore. Young Socceroos in Asian Qualifiers
Australia 4 - Yemen 1
Iran 0 - Australia 3
South Korea 0 v Australia 0

06/10/2010: Group D - The Qantas Young Socceroos Australia topped the group and qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC U-19 Championship with a 0-0 draw with South Korea on Friday. In the 2nd game goals from Mustafa Amini, Kerem Bulut and Terry Antonis secured a 3-0 win over Iran at Linzi Stadium. They first defeated Yemen 4-1 in their opening match in Zibo, China. After conceding shortly after the start of the match, the Qantas Young Socceroos responded with three first half goals through Kofi Danning, Kerem Bulut and Dylan McGowan with Matthew Fletcher finishing the scoring late in the second half. Group C runners-up, the United Arab Emirates, are the opponents on Monday in the quarter finals of the tournament. A win would not only give us a semi finals berth, but would also mean qualification for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be played in Colombia next July-August 2011 ..

'Top Six Fail To Win As League Crowds Hit New Low' - None of the top six teams in the Hyundai A-League failed to win on the third weekend in September, meaning Adelaide United have maintained their three-point advantage at the top of the table.
