12/10/2010: The Qantas Young Socceroos have qualified in extra time for the semi-finals defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 4-2 in a thrilling quarter final at the AFC U-19 Championship tonight in Zibo, China last night. They now play Saudi Arabia in the semifinal on Thursday 14 October, and significantly now advance to the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be played in Colombia next July-August 2011 as one of the best four Asian teams ..

06/10/2010: Group D - The Qantas Young Socceroos Australia topped the group and qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC U-19 Championship with a 0-0 draw with South Korea on Friday. In the 2nd game goals from Mustafa Amini, Kerem Bulut and Terry Antonis secured a 3-0 win over Iran at Linzi Stadium. They first defeated Yemen 4-1 in their opening match in Zibo, China. After conceding shortly after the start of the match, the Qantas Young Socceroos responded with three first half goals through Kofi Danning, Kerem Bulut and Dylan McGowan with Matthew Fletcher finishing the scoring late in the second half. Group C runners-up, the United Arab Emirates, are the opponents on Monday in the quarter finals of the tournament. A win would not only give us a semi finals berth, but would also mean qualification for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be played in Colombia next July-August 2011 ..
