This season's contracted 10 team competition (with the killing of North Qld Fury) runs for 25 'weeks' or rounds starting on Saturday 8 October 2011 to find the Premiers (and holder of the Premiers Plate). Then a finals series runs from 30 March, 2012 to find the Champions (holders of the 'Toilet Seat') climaxing with a Grand Final on Sunday 22 April 2012.

HAL 7 A-League Launch
04/10/2010: The 2010-2011 Hyundai A-League season 7 was launched early on Monday morning 4 October, 2011 at the Sydney Football Stadium. The theme of "We are football" was written out on the pitch by the fans who were able to attend. A season with a lot riding on it and lots of interest - whetted by the signings of Socceroos Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell, and today the sacking of Jets coach Branko Culina before a ball has been kicked.
