A Teeboy Kamara strike has defeated Melbourne Victory 1-0 at Burton Park on Saturday afternoon. However Victory would think they should have taken something from the game.

Despite lots of chances by Victory a 69th minutes strike was enough take all three points.

Adelaide with 15-year old Teeboy Kamara created the first chance on 17 minutes but his left footed strike went wide of Tando Velaphi's goal.

Four minutes later Evan Kostopoulos next tested Velaphi but his strike had no power behind it.

The visitors from Melbourne created their first chance on 22 minutes with Christopher Cristaldo but his strike went wide of Paul Izzo's net.

Hernan Espindola was next to test Izzo but his curling effort was too weak.

The rest of the first-half was slow without any noteworthy chances by either side but on 36 minutes Damir Lokvancic was yellow carded after a fierce encounter with an opposition player.

Kamara created the first chance of the second stanza but his strike was hit straight at Velaphi.

On 53 minutes Victory could have opened the scoring when Espindola crossed for Luke O'Dea but the forward got a weak connection before the ball was cleared off the line.

Two minutes later the Reds should have scored but Jonathan Mavromatis decided to pass while one-on-one with Velaphi. The Adelaide forward however was offside.

Allan Welsh then drifted into the box from a throw-in and shot at Velaphi but his weak attempt was easily saved.

Six minutes later after all substitutes were used Adam Nakic rose up from a Jimmy Jeggo free-kick but his header was easily saved by Izzo.

On 67 minutes both sides had chances. First with Kamara for the Reds whose strike was hit straight at Velaphi. Second-half substitute John Buceto then shot from the edge of the box at Izzo.

One minute later Kamara opened the scoring for Adelaide when he was played in before finishing with his left foot past Velaphi.

On 80 minutes O'Dea could have snatched an equaliser but his strike went wide.

With four minute left on the clock Lokvancic could have grabbed an equaliser but his flick on header missed the target.

In the last minute of normal time Izzo saved the day for the hosts when he pulled off a brilliant save to deny Lokvancic's wonderful long range strike.

Izzo then continued his fine form to deny Jeggo one minute later with a comfortable save.

Adelaide remain second last one point behind the AIS with Victory last with only one win on the board.
