The Newcastle Jets have pulled off a sensational win against a determined Gold Coast side at Ausgrid Stadium, it’s a win that pushes them into the top 6.

Sadly a massive downpour hit the local area one hour before kick off reducing the crowd numbers, but by kick off the storm had blown over and not a drop of rain was recorded while the game was played.

Its the visitors who make a bright start on 35 seconds Salley plays a delightful pass for Harold who crosses for Halloran whose header beats Kennedy but hits the upright and bounces away.

On 17 mins Halloran is fouled just outside the area and Jungschiager bends his free kick just over the cross bar.

The first half has few chances created, with the half ending Bridges is fouled and Byun free kick is just wide of the upright.

On 42 mins a wonderful Topor-Stanley run down the right flank ends with a perfect cross for Brockie who heads in magnificently its 1-0 Jets.

Brockie begins the second half with a brilliant run to the by line, he cuts the ball back for Griffiths who fires a shot that Tyson saves.

The Gold Coast are keen to level, Harold breaks away from his marker but his curling effort is just over the cross bar, a minute later the pacy Halloran breaks away from Topor-Stanley, he has a one on one with Kennedy but the Kennedy is able to block the shot. Tyson creates the next opportunity with a long throw that has Junschiager away he reaches the edge of the penalty area and fires a thunderbolt that Kennedy does well to save and hold.

On the hour Brockie tees up Bridges wonderfully but his shot is just wide of the upright. Two mins later a Griffiths chip finds Brockie who turns Thwaite in front of goal and fires home, its 2-0 Jets.

Thwaite almost immediately makes up for the error he goes on a solo run through the Jets defence the ball falls to Rigters who should score from in front of goal but Kennedy saves.

The visitors are pushing forward at every opportunity, a Junschiager cross finds Halloran who fires home, its 2-1 Jets.

Severino is through on goal he back heels for Rigters who is certain to level but Topor-Stanley gets a foot in.

Then an a over hit cross finds Rigters he finds a on rushing Traore who brilliantly fires home its 2-2.

The home fans watch in disbelief and before they can retake their seats from the kick off Griffiths is away on the left, he crosses perfectly for Haliti who smashes home its 3-2 Jets.

Gold Coast then launch a series of attacks a Severino free kick is added just wide by Salley, the final seconds has Halloran teeing up the on running Mebrathtu but its Elrich who gets a toe in to deflect the ball wide. It ends 3-2 Jets in a great second half.
