Western Sydney Wanderers return to their home ground at Parramatta Stadium after their historic first win last weekend away against the A-League champions Brisbane Roar in a dominant display. Can the Wanderers score their first goal and record their first win at their home in Parramatta Stadium?

The opening chance was presented in the 12th minute when Patrick Gerhardt tackled Adam D'Apuzzo to give Western Sydney a free kick outside the 18 yard box. Through the resulting free kick, midfielder Aaron Mooy's shot from the free kick ended up going well over the crossbar.

Melbourne had a great chance on the 19th minute when a through ball to Josip Tadic to break the Wanderers offside trap led him to a good one on one chance against the Wanderers custodian Ante Covic, but his shot went to the side netting of the right hand side of the goal.

In the 28th minute, Western Sydney registered their first goal on the scoreboard which started in the centre of the field when a good pass from Aaron Mooy to Joey Gibbs resulted in Gibbs flicking the ball to Mark Bridge who finished first time outside of the box that went low and wide of the right hand side of the goal that finally opened the account for the Wanderers in their home ground.

Melbourne Heart's best chance in the first half could have been easily converted in the 34th minute when Michael Marrone lobbed the ball inside the box which allowed an unmarked Mate Dugandzic to execute a first time volley with ample time and space in front of him ended up going over the crossbar.

The 51st minute allowed the Wanderers to get their second goal in the match when a great counter attack from Western Sydney was created through Joey Gibbs to pass the ball onto the right wing to Youssouf Hersi which allowed him to weave through the Melbourne Heart defence, Hersi's resultant cross from the wing reached around the penalty spot which unfortunately Gerhardt from Heart deflected the ball through his feet which ended up going into his own goal.

Melbourne Heart on the 57th minute registered their first goal of the game when a cross via Aziz Behich from outside of the box went to Josip Tadic who then excuted the ball sweetly by kicking the ball with his right foot to leave the Wanderers goalkeeper flat footed to see the ball go past him on the left hand corner of the goal and into the back of the net.

The 8,075 spectators were excited in the 78th minute when the Wanderers were presented a good chance for the Wanderers when some clever lead up through Aaron Mooy skills via a 360 degree turn to beat an defender in the middle of the field resulted Mooy to pass the ball to Jerome Polenz on the right wing to allow him to weave through the Heart defence, but unfortunately the good lead up work was not rewarded with Polenz's shot outside the box over the top of the crossbar.

The end of the game was tense for the rest of the match as both teams created chances, however the final result ended up being Western Sydney Wanderers winning their first home game at Parramatta Stadium.
